Kay Inverarity's Collection

 A tailor- made outfit in the style of 1901, it is made of celadon green cashmere wool trimmed with black guipure lace. These outfits were popular for active women at the end of the 19th century.

 

 Mid victorian child's party dress made in pale blue lattice patterned silk with applied braid work in salmon pink soutache braid. 

 


 

1901 informal day wear consisting of a cotton skirt and blouse. Child also in appropriate dress with pinafore.


 

It was fashionable for young children's draws to be seen under the hem of their dresses. Boys wore skirts until they were about five years old.
